A Message from our Board President

Dear HSPT Members and Friends,

We are all adjusting to the “new normal:” isolated at home and maintaining social distancing. Lots of anxiety perhaps, but we will get through this serious health crisis and economic downturn. Accordingly, we must all keep the faith!

Living in Northern Nevada, we are somewhat removed from the most dramatic areas of infected cases. Nonetheless, it is very important to be vigilant and careful in our daily lives for the foreseeable future.

Charley B. suggested I create this post, placing it on our website. It is important to stay in contact with friends and neighbors and offer help to anyone who may need it.

The immediate future seems a bit bleak, with an expected increase in infections and loss of life. It is only prudent to play it safe. The economy has been in free fall, but I can only express what I have heard from my investment advisors—hang in there, it will come back in time. Clearly, we are in a recession now, unfortunately,

In the meantime, our schedule of future activities with HSPT remains uncertain. We will wait to see what public officials advise regarding group contact and the scheduled reopening of restaurants.

You will undoubtedly get a sense of when we’ll be able to come out of “hibernation.” I will prepare a group email to you when the time is proper to review upcoming events.

If you need any personal assistance, please contact fellow chapter members. We are all here for each other.

Warm regards,

Larry M.
